Closing ceremony of the sixteenth national convention of central library's heads at Universities of Medical Sciences was hosted by Birjand University of Medical Sciences with the presence of Dr. Kabiri, head of the department at Development and Information Coordination and Scientific Publication of Health Ministry, and all central library's heads at universities of Medical Sciences from all over the country and it was held in Information Service Center of the university.

In this closing ceremony, the university principal pointed to the fact that, successful doctors spend most of their time in libraries when they are students and they are devoted to reading books; he said: "thanks to librarians and other staffs in this setting, libraries provide a convenient environment for students to improve in scientific and research fields". Dr. Mohammad Dehqani Firoozabadi pointed to this university's central library achievements during recent years and also achieving the top rank for being the best central library of type 2 Universities of Medical Sciences in the country during the last year, and then he added: "this is a great and honorable success for this university".
He showed his gratitude to responsible staffs for holding this convention and was thankful for the presence of library's heads at universities of Medical Sciences from all over the country in this convention; then he said: "different points of views were proposed in this convention and we hope to take positive steps to improve educational and research fields in universities of Medical Sciences". Dr. Dehqani said that libraries are described as beating heart of the university and he emphasized that libraries are of great importance in improving students' knowledge and literacy. Following that, the head of the department at the Development and Information Coordination and Scientific Publication of Health Ministry pointed to the process of holding this convention during the previous years and he said: "the decision was made to hold the conventions in those universities having exemplary libraries".

Dr. Payam Kabiri said: "having such an outstanding central libraryin Birjand University of Medical Sciences is an honor for us"; then he added: "Birjand University of Medical Sciences has been successful and exemplary in librarianship and it has provided essential infrastructure and necessary facilities to be one of the top universities considering its library". He remarked that this convention was held aiming at sharing thoughts, using colleagues' experiences and making decisions according to informative policies and librarianship in medical sciences fields and among universities of Medical Sciences; he reminded that fortunately, this convention was held at desirable level. The head of the department at Development and Information Coordination and Scientific Publication of Health Ministry mentioned to the development of infrastructures in universities of Medical Sciences considering research fields and also providing better services in these universities as this convention's purposes and then he affirmed: "this was the first convention of central library's heads at universities of Medical Sciences that broadcasted live videos on the internet". Dr. Kabiri showed his gratitude to the university staffs worked hardly to improve the university, and he appreciated Dr. Hassan Beidokhti, Medical Information and Scientific Resources' Manager, for hosting this convention in the best way and gave him a dedication reward".

It has to be said that before the closing ceremony, Dr. Rahmatollah Fattahi, the prominent professor in department of Knowledge andInformation Science at Ferdowsi University, delivered a speech. The title was "National Strategies to Create Common Values in Iran's libraries at Universities of Medical Sciences "; and Dr. Dariush Alimohammadi, assistant professor in department of Knowledge andInformation Science at Kharazmi University delivered a speech too. The title was "Health Information Centers: Considering the Processes from Rehabilitation of Care Givers to Recreating Payment Services".
